Tape Transfers
The average lifespan of a high-quality VHS tape in a 70-degree environment with average humidity
is about 7-15 years. Transfer them to DVD or CD before it's too late!
We can take your VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, 8mm, BEAT or Mini DV tape and transfer it to DVD or CD-R.
DVDs can be played on most DVD players manufactured after 2002 or on many PCs. CD-Rs can
be played on most PCs and some DVD players. (Check the manual that came with your equipment if
you are unsure!)
All DVDs over 20 minutes in length include a top menu with a title specifying the date range of the
videos, as well as scene-selection buttons that allow you to skip to Uncle Hank's surprise party
without fast-forwarding through the entire DVD. Video is brightened, darkened, and/or color
corrected, if needed.
All DVDs have a full color print-on or stick-on label. Laser-engraved DVD labels are also
available. They can include a title and date range, and, optionally, a customer-supplied or stock
picture. For instance, if your video is from a trip to Yellowstone, send us a picture of your family
in front of Old Faithful and we can etch it on the top of the CD! We can also use a stock photo of
Old Faithful, if you prefer.
Background music is an appropriate addition if there is no audio on your tapes. We can supply
generic background music, or use customer-supplied CDs or audio files. In order to ensure
compliance with copyright laws, you must own the music being placed on the CD or DVD. One or
more songs can be placed on the DVD. If you'd like musical changes to coincide with the changes in
your video, we can do it! Music editing is time-intensive and is charged at an hourly rate.
